An intelligent city feeds on data: our sensors are able to gather the informations that, appropriately aggregated, build the smart future of our urban areas.

Radoff CITY:

  • Processes six fundamental data collected by our sensors: concentration of radon gas, pressure, humidity, temperature and quantity of particulate matter.
  • Connects our sensors to the cloud, using the technology offered by Amazon Web Services.
  • Develops an intuitive and dedicated Front End.

GPRS

Radoff CITY communicates in any network condition and even in the absence of WLAN connectivity.

The device is equipped with a dedicated GSM / GPRS module, which allows the device and its sensors to communicate via the cellular network.

Our R&D team is constantly looking for architectural and technological solutions that can offer scalability and reliability and that, at the same time, can be privacy preserving.

The goal is to provide a highly decentralized and resilient network in which there are no typical failure points of Client-Server architectures.

The Blockchain and in general the concept of distributed trust are the main answer to these needs. These technologies are rapidly becoming the infrastructure reference for the implementation of highly scalable sensor networks.

Thanks to Blockchain, the nodes that make up the IoT network of Radoff CITY will be able to exchange data and information between each other in total safety, without the need of an intermediary to take charge of all communications.

The adoption of Blockchain will allow to reduce all management costs necessary for maintaining a centralized infrastructure in which hundreds of thousands of devices actively participate.

It is a city in line with innovations and with the digital revolution that uses sensors and IoT technology to connect city components and obtain useful data to improve the quality of life of its citizens and visitors.

They are here now and they are growing rapidly while the Internet of Things (IoT) is expanding more and more rapidly influencing municipal services around the world.

Particulate matter

Air quality in cities: particulate matter

Air pollution, which nowadays is even higher and widespread, has led to an increase of respiratory diseases risk, with immediate (acute) or medium and long-term (chronic) effects, mainly affecting large urban agglomerations.

Particulate matter, especially PM2.5 (able to spread in bronchus and trachea, di diffondersi in bronchi e trachea, in addition to air cells and blood), are responsible only in Italy for about 70,000 deaths a year (source: European Environment Agency).

Furthermore, together with Radon gas particles, particulate matter create a radioactive cluster that is breathed.

Therefore, the connection between dust and gas determines an essential variable for radon gas reclamation.

This means that, even in the presence of low concentrations of Radon, health risks could still be high if there are environments with high concentrations of particulate matter..
